I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer so far and the kids are adjusting to being back in school. We had a Teacher meeting last night and we can't wait to be back in the Studio with the dancers!
Classes begin Tuesday, September 7. If your child has class on Wednesday, their first day is 9/8; Thursday: 9/9; Monday: 9/13. Dress Code: Why is there a dress code? It is important to dress appropriately for dance for many reasons. Most important is so the teachers can see the dancers' bodies and can properly correct them. Proper body placement helps prevent injuries and helps promote good posture. Aside from the teachers needing to be able to see the dancers, if the dancers aren't able to fully move they won't get as much out of dance. Please send your dancer in the appropriate attire for their classes. As a reminder, dance shoes are not to be worn outside. The oil and grit from the pavement will get tracked into the Studio and ruin the dance floors. All hair needs to be securely up and out of their face as well. In case you have thrown away the information you received at registration, the dress code can be found here: https://louisburgdance.weebly.com/studio-policies.html We can order all dance shoes (except Pointe shoes) at the Studio and have sizes Child 2-4 - Adult XL in leotards in stock. If you need to get shoes/leotards for your dancer, you may come in with them when they arrive for class. Please bring socks for trying on shoes. The Studio Store will be Open the first two weeks of classes the following hours: 9/7: 5:15-7:00 9/8: 5:15-7:00 9/13: 5:00-7:00 9/14: 5:15-7:00 9/15: 5:15-7:00 The shoes and bags ordered at Registration will be distributed to the dancers the first week of class. Arriving for Class: Please wait in your cars in the parking lot until the outside lights have been turned on. We will continue taking temperatures upon arrival. We did this last year and I feel like it helped keep a lot of germs out of the Studio. Parents may walk dancers to the door, but will not be permitted inside the Studio. This helps keep the number of people in the building at one time to a minimum. When you arrive for class, please don't crowd the door so that we can get the previous classes out prior to your entry. Departing from Class: Please be prompt when picking up your dancer. We will be dismissing classes a couple minutes before end time so that we can get the next group in for class. Masks: Masks will not be required, but are highly encouraged to help keep other dancers and Staff well. The mask policy is subject to change at any time based on the progression of the Pandemic. COVID-19: If anyone in your household is exposed to COVID-19, please either keep your dancer out of dance for 2 weeks or get them tested before returning. If your child's school grade ends up quarantined due to COVID-19, keep them home or get them tested. If anyone in your household tests positive for COVID-19, please keep your dancer home for 2 weeks and have them tested prior to returning to dance. If your child is exhibiting any of the following symptoms, please keep them home: cough, runny nose, stuffy nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever. I understand that normal cold and allergies happen, but we cannot take any chances. We reserve the right to send any dancer home that exhibits any of these symptoms while at dance, too. This is an ever-changing pandemic and we all need to work together to keep our Dance Family safe and well. For any questions not answered here, please refer to the website (https://louisburgdance.weebly.com). I have worked diligently to get all of the information you will need on the website including the Calendar, Studio Policies, Dress Code, etc. We can't wait to get back dancing with our Dance Family in a couple of weeks!
